Biogradska Gora National Park in the north-east of Montenegro was founded in 1952 and is located between the valleys of the Tara and Lim rivers.

The Biogradska Gora nature reserve is located in the very center of the Bjelasica mountain range among alpine meadows and snow-capped peaks (Montenegro). Lake Biograd is the most famous of the five lakes in the Biogradska Gora National Park.

Lake Biograd is 1,085 meters above sea level and 12 meters deep. Walks along the winding narrow footpaths of the Biogradska Gora National Park pass through the shady reserves of the forest, which makes up more than 75% of its entire territory and has 85 tree species.
