Nevertheless, the Eiffel Tower is always admired by most tourists. Even after 120 years, it remains the tallest structure in Paris and the fifth tallest in all of France. Despite its majestic dimensions, its total weight does not exceed 10 thousand tons, it exerts pressure on the ground equal to the pressure of a person sitting on a chair, and if all the metal of the tower is melted into a single block, it will occupy an area of 25 by 5 m and will be only 6 cm in height! However, in our time, the construction of a similar structure would require three times less metal at all - technologies do not stand still.

During the German occupation, Hitler visited Paris and wanted to climb the Eiffel Tower. However, the Fuehrer's wish did not come true: the elevator broke down on time, and Hitler left with nothing. The Germans, after such an embarrassment for 4 years, tried to fix the ill-fated lift. In vain - the German craftsmen could not understand the mechanism, and the French only shrugged their shoulders - there were no spare parts! However, in 1944, literally a few hours after the liberation of Paris, the elevator miraculously started working and continues to work without interruption to this day.

It is curious that the Eiffel Tower of Paris, France is probably the only building in the world that has its own patented color - eiffel brown, which gives the tower a bronze tint.
