The first of the two Hiiumaa success stories is associated with the revival of the local dialect , when, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of the Hiiumaa people, textbooks and other interesting publications were published in the Hiiumaa dialect, and Meelis Tabor's soulful play Mamma lood was performed on stage. The second story is related to the restoration of the population of the endangered European mink on the island of Hiiumaa in Estonia, and as a result of the successful work, the area of activity was expanded to Saaremaa.
