Sutjeska National Park is one of the oldest parks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was created in 1962. Most of its territory is occupied by dense forests.

Flora and fauna of Sutjeska National Park is rich and varied. 2600 plant species grow in the park. A separate natural treasure is the Perucica relict forest, where beeches and black pines grow.

This national park is home to bears, wolves, chamois, wild boars, martens, wild goats, etc. There are also about 300 bird species.
