Throughout its history, mankind has created a huge number of magnificent architectural structures, majestic monuments, blooming gardens. Of course, people have always wondered which of them are worthy of being famous all over the world! The first lists began to be invented by the ancient Greeks, and the well-known version appeared during the time of the empire of Alexander the Great. Poets and theologians at different times tried to add other monuments that deserve attention to the classical list, but so far only 7 objects are included in the canonical list. But where are the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World in our time?

7 Wonders of the Ancient World
• The Pyramid of Cheops is the only surviving miracle, and it is located in Giza, in Egypt. Therefore, you can visit this place with an excursion group and touch one of the greatest structures.
• The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were created in the 7th century BC for the wife of King Nebuchadnezzar II. They were located in Babylon, which is now the territory of Iraq. The unique gardens were destroyed by an earthquake.
• Zeus statue in Olympia. The sculptor Phidias created a statue of the god of thunder in 435 BC, it belonged to the temple in Olympia - this is in Greece. The statue was irretrievably damaged in a fire.
• Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. The magnificent temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis was the pride of the Greeks. They tried to destroy it several times, but they managed to do it only with the arrival. Now you can see only the ruins of a once beautiful building, they are located in Turkey.
• The mausoleum in Halicarnassus was built as a tomb for the burial of the ruler Mansol - from his name the word "mausoleum" was formed. He was so great that he immediately got on the list of "Seven Wonders". The structure stood for many hundreds of years until an earthquake destroyed it in the 15th century. Modern Halicarnassus is the Turkish resort of Bodrum.
• The Colossus of Rhodes is a huge statue of the god Helios, built in the 3rd century BC on the Greek island of Rhodes. However, in the 3rd century AD, it was destroyed by an earthquake. From time to time, information appears in the Greek media that they plan to restore the monument, but so far these are only plans.
• The Lighthouse of Alexandria was built on the island of Pharos, which is now part of Egypt. For many centuries it was considered the tallest building in the world. The lighthouse was created not only because of its beauty: it served as a good reference point for sailors. And, you guessed it, the lighthouse was destroyed by earthquakes.

As you can see, the previous miracles, with rare exceptions, have not survived to our days. Therefore, in 2007, the New Open World Corporation, led by B. Weber, decided to determine the new 7 wonders of the world by voting. So, now the largest amphitheater of antiquity, the Colosseum (Rome, Italy), the Great Wall of China (Huayzhou, China), the ancient city of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes, Peru), the ancient city of Petra (Jordan), a beautiful mausoleum - the Taj Mahal Mosque (Agra, India), the Statue of Christ the Redeemer (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), the Mayan Cultural Center of Chichen Itza (Yucatan, Mexico).
