The area itself is beautiful. With a spectacular and eternal beach of fine sand and tan color, surrounded by a lot of vegetation and, of course, the cape that gives it its name. It has numerous trails through which you can tour the area and enjoy the landscape. However, this place hides something else.
The Magic of Cape Hillsborough
As sunset approaches, the green areas behind the beach begin to fill with skittish little wallabies that graze and skip across the lawn.
When the night has already earned ground the day, then they begin to be seen the s low er kangaroos, much larger than the wallabies.

Just behind the beach there is a large campsite where both wallabies and kangaroos roam freely.
Some are passing through, others approach knowing that there are humans and therefore easy food.
It is important not to feed them or leave food within reach so as not to harm their health or interfere with their natural behavior.

The simple gesture of offering them food can have a very important impact on the ethology of these and practically any other animal.
When the day strikes again, very early, then the real Cape Hillsborough spectacle begins. At low tide, kangaroos and wallabies come down to the beach to feed on the small crustaceans and other delicacies that are exposed in the sand.
It is a real pass. We went down to the beach when there was still more darkness than light, around 5:45 in the morning.

At first, only the silhouettes of these incredible animals can be distinguished. When the sun begins to rise, in addition to enjoying a beautiful sunrise, they can already be observed in great detail.
Wallabies are the first to disperse when they no longer have the security of the gloom, because as I said they are quite scary. However, the kangaroos stay so calm, for quite a while. Some rush the delicacies of the sea, others take the opportunity to warm up with the sun, take a nap or eat a little vegetable matter in the bushes that surround the beach.
