Resurrection Bay is a bay located in the southeastern part of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska (USA).
The bay is bounded to the east by the Resurrection Peninsula (ending at Resurrection Cape off Barwell Island) and to the west by the Kenai Fjords National Park with the Bear Glacier. In the terminal part (towards the Pacific) there are some islands (Fox Island, Hive Island, Rugged Island). At the head of the bay (above Seward) is Mount Marathon (about 1,400 meters high).

The main settlement is Seward with approximately 3,000 inhabitants and is at the head of the Bay. Another less important but more historic settlement is Lowell Point.
The city of Seward was named after Aleksandr Andreyevich Baranov (1746 - 1819), a Russian fur trader, who was forced to take refuge during a bad storm in the Gulf of Alaska. Both the bay and the nearby river were named in his honor.

Several cruises of a few hours leave from Seward to tour the bay. You can see sea lions, birds, and glaciers from nearby Kenai Fjords National Park, including Bear, Northwestern Glacier, and Holgate Glacier.
