Built in 1888, the Folly Lighthouse is a brick tower with a lantern and gallery. A white light flashes every 10 seconds that is visible at 13 miles (21 km). The light works with solar energy. A garden surrounds the lighthouse. It is maintained by the Jamaica Port Authority, an agency of the Ministry of Transport and Works.
