Kronborg Castle, chosen by Shakespeare to place his Hamlet, stands on a peninsula in the Øresund Strait. This fortress, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, symbolizes Danish maritime power, personified in the mythical Ogier the Dane, who is said to continue walking through the subways in which he was supposedly buried. Its impressive mass surrounded by moats seems to defy the sea and inside you can admire magnificent rooms such as the king and queen's apartments, the ballroom or the chapel.
