The park was created by Decree No. 531 of May 20, 1992 next to the Sierra Aparadus National Park. Occupies an area of 17,300 hectares.
Serra Geral is one of the most interesting natural parks in Brazil. The relief of the park is characterized by hills, mountains, valleys. It has a rich and varied flora and fauna, with a wide variety of reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects and small mammals.
