It does not take courage to visit Scotland, just taking the excursions in stride and being aware of all kinds of legend that abounds in it is enough. Well, if you want to tour one of the many castles (listed as mysterious for its ghost stories), you must head directly to the west coast of Edinburgh and enter Tantallon Castle.
Located just 5 kilometers southeast of North Berwick, within East Lothian, Scotland, this imposing fortress was built around the 14th century by William Douglas, although with the passing of time, command was directed towards his son.
Tantallon Castle |
Sadly, today, Tantallon Castle is in the hands of Scotland's historical heritage, having suffered numerous times of violent fighting and constant encirclement in the years 1491, 1528 and 1651.

Now, if you enter it, you will see that the fortress has a kind of wall approximately 15 meters high and 4 meters wide made of red limestone. The part where three of its slopes are located face the North Sea cliffs, while the fourth faces a moat.
Tantallon Castle |
It is currently considered one of the last castles built in Scotland and what is most striking about it is, not only its medieval design, but also the thick cylindrical towers.
However, many people prefer not to know him for fear of a ghost appearing to them. And I say ghost, because as Scottish legends say, in every castle there is a mystery to unveil. And this is another of the many cases.

According to legend, back in the month of May 2008, Christopher Aitchison was visiting the Tantallon Castle and like every visitor does, taking pictures. Of course, when he revealed them and carefully observed a photo taken from one of the windows of the fortress, it turned out that the image of a ghost appeared, which according to the author, was the King of Scotland James V, dressed in period clothing and as if that were not enough, laughing as if he were there waiting to be photographed.
