The Kaiser Mountains are part of the eastern Alps, located in Tyrol (Austria), between Kufstein and St. Johann, they are made up of two different mountain ranges, the Zahme Kaiser (docile Kaiser) to the north and the Wilde Kaiser (brave Kaiser) to the south.

Wilder Kaiser Nature Reserve is one of the most impressive mountain ranges in the Alpine region. In 1963, the Kaiser Mountains, made up of the Zahmer Kaiser, the Wilder Kaiser and all their peaks, was declared a nature reserve in order to protect the indigenous species of fauna and flora and to preserve this splendid mountain landscape.
Both the long-distance Tyrolean Eagle Trail and the Camino de Santiago - one of the most famous pilgrimage routes in the world - pass through the Wilder Kaiser, which is also known for its demanding hiking trails and its climbing routes suitable for all levels of difficulty.
