One of the main tourist attractions on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula is Kirkjufell, a curious mountain that has been the setting for Game of Thrones and other film productions.
At 463 meters high, Kirkjufell Mountain is one of the essential places to see in Snaefellsnes. Its location by the sea and its curious almost perfect conical shape have made Kirkjufell, "the church mountain", become the most photographed landscape in Iceland.

Kirkjufellfoss
At the foot of Kirkjufell is Kirkjufellfoss, a small waterfall compared to others in the country but which is essential to give Kirkjufell a unique charm.

In the following season, Kirkjufell appears in Game of Thrones to host a harrowing battle between the White Walkers and some of Game of Thrones' most beloved characters, such as Jon Snow or Jorah Mormont.
