The David L. Boren Trail offers 16 miles (26 km) of hiking trails and 4 miles (6 km) of multi-purpose trails that wander the tops of ridges, along the bottoms of streams, through tall forests and into areas so remote that one can almost experience what the first explorers must have felt when they first saw the Ouachita National Forest. The same route can also be split into several short and long hikes for those who don't want to go the whole track.
