Daisetsuzan National Park is the largest in Japan (2,309 km). The park is located in the north of the country, on the island of Hokkaido (second in area) and is made up of several mountain ranges, volcanoes, hot springs, lakes and forests. It is the place par excellence for the practice of trekking and skiing. For tourist stays, many cities in the park offer accommodation.

Daisetsuzan National Park (大雪山 国立 公園) popularly known as Taisetsuzan, is located in the north of Japan in the mountainous center of Hokkaidó Island. Of all the national parks, it is the largest in all of Japan with 2,267.64 km².

The name given to the Daisetsuzan park means great snow-capped mountains, a very appropriate name since within the National Park there are up to 16 peaks that exceed 2000 meters above sea level.
