The Victoria Lighthouse, located in Trieste, was built between 1923 and 1927 by the Italian architect Arduino Berlam. In addition to indicating the route of the sailors in the Gulf of Trieste, it is also a monument in honor of those who fell at sea during the Second World War. The monument, managed by the province of Trieste, can be visited free of charge on certain days of the week. The Victoria Lighthouse is known especially in the sailing world for being one of the symbols of the Barcolana, the most famous Italian regatta.

The lonely Porer lighthouse on its small island, was built in 1833 and is a mile and a half southwest of Kamenjak (the southern tip of Istria) in Croatia. At the foot of the tallest lighthouse in Istria, there is a stone building with two apartments that can be rented through AirBnB. The underwater world around the island is very attractive to divers. You can also simply dive into the translucent shallow waters, but watch out for the strong ocean currents.

Bishop Rock is a small rock outcropping four miles west of the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall, UK. The rock rises from a depth of 45 meters, with a peak at a water level 46 meters long and 16 meters wide. On this narrow platform is a lighthouse, which makes Bishop Rock the smallest island in the world, with a building, recognized in the Guinness Book of Records.
