The route of the line connects Aizu-Wakamatsu station, in Fukushima prefecture with Koide station, already in Niigata prefecture. In addition, it has the advantage that it can be used with the JR Pass.
The train offers wonderful views of the nature of the area at any time of year: from the intense green of the Japanese summer, through the snowy nature of the winter, the cherry blossoms in spring or the change of color of the leaves in autumn… It is always beautiful!

Its charm resides in the route itself, rather than in the stations along the route. The train winds slowly parallel to the river, passing through deep sections of the Tadami River Gorge. And its route takes you between rice fields, forests, steel bridges and small tunnels, allowing you to enjoy the views in a very special way.
