To get to the most famous trekking on the island of Senja, the Segla trekking, we first had to reach the small town of. To get to this place, Norway once again made us exclaim in unison an "alah" with its infrastructures. In this case, it was going through a tunnel with an automatic door that surprised us. This is so, so that the road that is inside the tunnel and led us to Mefjodver does not freeze.

There, we took a first "reconnaissance lap" but knowing where we were going to spend the night with our van that night, and it helped us to realize that, although it is -17 degrees, the children play as usual, and that we were not the only ones that we would do the Segla trek the next morning.

In summer, this route of 4 kilometers and 600 meters of unevenness is not complicated, adapting the speed to the physical form you have, there is no major problem. In winter, snowshoes are advisable, and snow and cold will require a little more training beforehand.

The final views are incredible, the massif next to the fjord makes you realize the immensity of the nature of Norway. You can even see cages in the fjord to catch the famous king crab, well known in Norwegian cuisine.
Senja Island is not yet very popular with tourists, like, for example, neighboring Lofoten, but this is where I wanted most of all. The most coveted point was Mount Segla.

Senja will also be remembered as the site of my most beautiful photograph of the aurora borealis over Ersfjord.
