The impressive Storseisundet Bridge is located on the Atlantic Ocean Highway in Norway. Come and discover what makes the Storseisundet special!
Storseisundet
Nervous drivers (and equally nervous passengers) beware! You really must prepare for the views of the Norwegian Storseisundet Bridge. The road connection from the Romsdal peninsula on the mainland to the island of Averøya in Møre og Romsdal county doesn't look like it actually connects them as you drive towards it. In fact, it looks a lot like you're there for an ice bath as you plummet from its 23 meters high.

However, you will be relieved to know that this is simply some kind of optical illusion. The Storseisundet Bridge is built in such a way that from a certain angle, when approached, it looks more like a trampoline than a bridge. One can only imagine the creative spirit that the architect possessed when he sat down at his desk. Known locally as the Drunken Bridge it is part of the Atlanterhavsveien, or Atlantic Ocean Highway, and attracts many curious visitors. The bridge design is functional and curious much like an L-shaped desk in a modern office, it is still an amazing place to behold.

Why it was built this way is a secret in the mind of its architect. It seems to have a different shape at every angle you look at it, which is, perhaps, what makes it so special.
Even when you can see the entire bridge it still looks downright scary.
So, to dissipate the nerves, the bridge from angles that make it look almost like a normal bridge. Almost, but not quite!
