The one we see today is perhaps one of the most beautiful places on the planet. We are talking about Navagio Bay, on the Zakynthos Island, south of the Ionian Islands, in Greece.

The picturesque Navagio Bay is located on the Greek island of Zakynthos, in the Ionian Sea off the southwestern coast of mainland Hellas. This is one of the most attractive and romantic corners of the Mediterranean.

Basic Moments
The crescent-shaped beach with clean white sand and oval-shaped pebbles, surrounded by an amphitheater of white limestone rock, protrudes far into the sea. These rocks resemble stone palms, in which the island carefully keeps its treasure - a small strip of pebble beach and a bay with clear water. Depending on the time of day and light, the sea shows shades of luxurious gems. In the morning, the water is emerald green, during the day it is sapphire, and in the evening it acquires a blue-green hue, this is the color artists call aquamarine.

Navagio Bay opens to the west, and here, as in a genuine natural theater, a spectacular performance takes place every evening - the sunset, sinking into the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The majestic scenery of this nightly action is white rocks, the rays of the setting sun paint them in pink and crimson colors.

On the world tourist map, Navagio Bay appeared due to a shipwreck that occurred here about 40 years ago. Actually, "Navagio" in Greek means "shipwreck". Since then, on a pebbly beach, the small merchant ship Panagiotis has been lying ashore, one day thrown ashore by the waves of an autumn Mediterranean storm. The rusty wreck of a ship in any other place would look like an unattractive pile of scrap metal, but here, among sheer cliffs, this shipwrecked victim looks unexpectedly organic and even touching. No wonder the Shipwreck Beach is invariably one of the five most photographed beaches, not only on Zakynthos, but also on all Greek resort islands in the Mediterranean.
