Lavertezzo is a village (about 1000 inhabitants) in the Verzascatal valley in the Verzasca region. It belongs to the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino. Lavertezzo is considered a Swiss protected city of national importance.

The industrial village of Riazzino is located more than 10 km from Lavertezzo on the Magadin plain. These are the former winter pastures and vineyards of Lavertezzo farmers. They practiced explicit cattle transhumance with seasonal residences on the outskirts of the Magadin Plain (300 m), in a valley village (550 m), on Mayensassen (Monti, 1000 m) and the Alps (1800 m). In addition to the main town of Lavertezzo and Riazzino, the municipality also belongs to the hamlet of Aquino, Rancone and Sambugaro. Ponte dei Salti
The Ponte dei Salti ("Bridge of Jumps") is a footbridge over the Verzasca in Lavertezzo. The bridge dates back to the 17th century and was built on the site of an ancient Roman bridge. It was partially destroyed in 1868 and rebuilt in 1960.
The stone bridge with two arches was built in the 17th century. It is a protected cultural asset of regional importance.

Both arches have spans of 14 m each. The path follows the shape of the arches, less to give the bridge an elegant look than to preserve the masonry in the wedge area and at the same time to reduce the weight of the arches. The path on the bridge is wide enough for two people to walk past each other. The parapet walls are knee-deep to leave enough room for sacks carried by donkeys. The height of the bridge over the river depends on the water level, but can also be about 14 meters.
In 1868, the supporting rock on the right bank was so destroyed by water from the annual floods that it gave way, and the right arch sank into the river. The arch was first replaced by a wooden structure and then by an iron beam, the support of which was also washed away in 1951. The bridge then received a stone arch again in 1960 and thus returned to its original appearance.
In 2016, the Swiss Post Office dedicated a two-franc postage stamp to this famous bridge, which was designed by Urs Schupbach and Kaspar Eigenaz.

Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli
The first mention of the building dates back to 1578, when the parish became independent, separating itself from the parish of Vogorno. In the same period, the building was radically modified, perhaps starting with the founding of the 16th-16th century oratory named after Sant'Antonio Abate. A small part remains of the previous building, possibly the choir, which is now used as a side chapel. The choir of the present church, however, was designed by Pietro Pometta and built from 1707 to 1780, the year to which the façade also belongs. However, the bell tower was built in the eighteenth century and was modified in 1845.

Sasso Cracked
This rock is ca. The 25 cubic meters lying on the open ground have a special characteristic, i.e. "fendü" (split), which gives the village its name. This boulder is unique in the region.
Mountain refuge Cornavòsa
The Kornavoz Shelter is a group of 7 houses, one large and 6 small ones. The large one has wood and gas stoves, kitchen utensils, a 40-seat dining room and a 12-seat dormitory. Other smaller ones have: one bedroom with 12 beds, another with toilets and water, one with a wood-burning stove, another with a closet, and another small museum. Heating wood. Lighting is provided by solar panels.

A mountain shelter is a system of small huts characteristic of the Alps, allowing shepherds, climbers and tourists to find refuge in a mountainous area away from settlements. They can either be equipped with various amenities, or just be a house without any amenities. Equipped shelters have the status of hotels and serve tourists for a fee (without a permanent reception, people simply pay for what they use).
