The Kálfshamarsvík Lighthouse was built in 1940 near the village of Kálfshamarsvík with a population of about 100 people. Subsequently, people left this village and now the nearest settlement to the lighthouse - the town of Skagaströnd - is located almost 35 kilometers south of this place.
