The Stelvio National Park, covering an area of 130,000 hectares, is located in the heart of the Alps at the foot of the Ortles Cevedali mountain range. This is one of the largest and oldest national parks in Italy.

The Stelvio National Park was founded in 1935 and is located on the territory of four provinces: Sondrio, Brescia, Bolzano and Trento. It is characterized by the diversity and richness of mountain flora and fauna, as well as landscapes, from harsh high mountain glaciers and coniferous forests to softer deciduous groves below. Red spruce, larch, mountain pine and white pine grow here.
The park is home to roe deer, deer, chamois, moufflons and bears, as well as marmots, stoats, red and brown squirrels, badgers, foxes and alpine hares. Here you can admire the animals up close, in their natural habitat. Seeing a real golden eagle near you is what it is worth coming here for.

In addition to routes for naturalists, routes have been developed that pass through ancient castles, museums and forts, against the backdrop of bewitching mountain landscapes.
The Stelvio National Park is open to the public all year round, changing colors depending on the season. In winter, it is covered with white snow, in spring it is painted in the soft green color of young foliage, and in autumn all the leaves turn yellow and purple-red. Mountain lovers will always discover something new here.
When traveling, it is better to use the services of mountain guides (they are not in the photo, if that). They will not only make your adventure safe, but they will also tell you a lot of interesting information. In the summer, they lead tours to centuries-old trees, animal-watching sites, and rare plant habitats. In winter, people travel through the park on snowshoes or wide skis.
