Hanauma Bay is a world famous beach in the USA, Oahu (Hawaii). Literally, the name translates as “curved bay” - this is how the attraction actually looks.

The beach was formed tens of thousands of years ago, when part of the volcano collapsed into the sea. If you look at Hanauma Bay from above, it becomes clear that it is located on the top of the crater - it is a ring, part of which is “broken” (just the “detail” that collapsed at one time).

The water here is very clean, and the scenery is such that you can "lose your head." The flow of tourists per year is approximately one million (which is almost three thousand a day!). Among them: nature lovers, lovers of passive beach recreation, athletes. The last category is those who are engaged in snorkeling and diving.
They say that the underwater worldit is very picturesque here - in one dive you can see about 400 species of fish! Some of them live only in this area (you will not see them anywhere in the world).

The beach itself is a tropical paradise. Here and white sand, and many exotic plants / trees. For its beauty, the beach was included in the list of the best beaches in Oceania at the beginning of the 21st century (12th place). Among visitors to the coast, you can often see members of the Obama family (the president himself also basks in the sun in his spare time).
The history of the beach began with fishing - members of the royal family came here to sit with a fishing rod and relax. As time went on, in 1967 the coast was given the status of the Marine Flora and Fauna Reserve, and after that, fishing was banned!

Nowadays, beach visitors are even offered to watch a short educational film before their feet touch the white sand. A large flow of tourists from May to November - the rest of the time the water becomes cool. It is worth remembering that on Tuesdays the entrance is closed here - protecting the environment is above all!
To get to the beach, you need to fly into Honolulu International Airport. Then by taxi or bus to Hanauma Bay.
