Anini Beach is a Hawaiian beach about five kilometers long, and is protected by one of the longest and widest reefs in Hawaii, which are more than three kilometers long. This protective reef creates a marine lake of great beauty and tranquility.

However, these calm waters make it difficult to do wave-oriented sports, such as surfing or windsurfing (at least in part of the beach as we will see later). The small waves and the shallow depth of the water until well into the water, make Anini an ideal beach for families with children. There are very good areas for free diving, where you can see a large number of fish typical of the area, such as parrot fish, unicorn fish, boxer fish and other tropical fish.
Due to its characteristics with so much marine fauna, Anini is considered one of the best places to dive. You have to be careful with corals, because they can be quite sharp.

This beach attracts both local people and visitors from all over the world. This is also because a part of Anini beach is very good for surfing and board sports of various kinds. Although it has been said before that most of Anini has calm waters, there is a part of the beach where the reef is cut, where the waves are already good for doing these sports.
However, there are days when there are many waves and others when you hardly see any. These last few days are for doing quieter things, like swimming, diving, or even fishing. When the waters are rougher, you have to be careful as there are very strong currents and there are people who have drowned.
If you don't feel like getting into the water, we have the alternative of taking a long walk along the coast. Between days, you may find the beach practically empty, even not seeing anyone for a long time. As you wander, you can collect shells, which abound in all sorts of sizes and shapes. At one point on the beach, you can take a detour and visit a polo field, where matches are usually held on Sundays.

It is not usually a problem to find accommodation in Anini as there are a wide variety of hotels and houses to rent. For those who prefer something closer to nature, there are also campsites available. Many famous people from film and music have their own homes on Anini Beach, so if you come across familiar faces while strolling along the beach, don't be too surprised. Some movies have been filmed on this beach, one of the best known being “Honeymoon for three”.
The truth is that it is a very safe beach and worth visiting. There are also quite a few trees along the beach that provide good shade on hotter days. In parts of Anini beach there are also services for visitors, such as showers and toilets, although there are no lifeguards.
