Kirkjufell Mountain (463 m) is located in the west of Iceland, on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, on the banks of the Grundarfjordur fjord and 3 km from the community of the same name. It is called one of the most unusual, if not the most picturesque mountains of Snaefellsnes. And all thanks to the original form: it resembles the roof of a church. Hence the name - Kirkjufell, that is, "pick-mountain". Steep slopes appeared as a result of flow around glaciers.

You can walk around the mountain - the walk will take about three hours - or climb to its top. The second option is only for experienced ones, because sometimes the path passes very close to the abyss, and only a rope keeps you from falling.
