Rye Beach has been in quite a growth spurt as people from all walks of life increasingly visit this beach in search of a calm, healthy and relaxed atmosphere, all of which can be found in Rye. Water sports are also a big part of Rye Beach. There are several groups or clubs, which are dedicated to promoting water activities and safety in these. Rye Beach has ramps for safe boat entry and easy access to Phillip Bay Harbour, for fishing or just sailing.
There are very good areas for snorkeling or scuba diving, and to be able to observe the abundant marine life that exists. It is very popular to dive along the reefs close to the beach.

Surrounding the beaches of Rye, there are wide green areas that are ideal for playing and having picnics. There are accessible car parks for these areas, so there is no problem finding a parking space. The town of Rye offers the possibility of going shopping in its many stores and shops, apart from being able to enjoy the friendliness of the local people.
There are several campsites where you can camp, if you like that activity. There are also campsites for caravans, fully equipped houses and apartments for rent, and hotels for all budgets and pockets.
