Two Jack Lake is about 11 kilometers northeast of Banff Town, next to Minnewanka Lake, from the lake you can see Mt. Rundle in the south. The water is blue-green, and there is a small island in the lake, similar to Spirit Island in Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park, covered with fir trees.
Two Jack Lake |
At the end of the nineteenth century, there were two good friends named Jack, one called Jack Stanley, who was in the boat business on the adjacent Lake Minnewanka; the other was called Jack Watters, who worked in the nearby Bankhead Coal Mine. The two often meet by the lake here, so people call the lake Double Jack Lake.
