Ubari lakes - 11 lakes in the oasis of the same name in Libya, the largest of them is Umm Al-Maa. The lakes gradually dry up, partly due to drought and the influence of the desert, partly due to artificial drainage. Some lakes are filled with water only in winter and not every year.

Ubari is a picturesque and very beautiful oasis surrounded by high dunes. Tall green palm trees and clear waters of the Ubari lakes really look like a paradise island in the desert. The oasis is inhabited by Tuareg nomads, and along the shores of Lake Gaberun there is a tourist campsite, several shops with souvenirs and traditional Berber jewelry, as well as the ruins of an old village.
