Venice Beach in California may take its name from the Italian city, but comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges. Although it was created in 1905 with canals and with the idea that it was the American Venice in certain aspects, today the resemblance is zero. This town is known more for the filming of certain famous movies, such as the movie “ Speed ” and the popular series “ Baywatch ”.

The truth is that Venice Beach has a long tradition of romance with the film industry, and for this reason we can find several film studios in the city and many others in the immediate vicinity. The beaches, streets and canals have been used in hundreds of movies over the years, both for series and movies.
The beach is just over 2 kilometers long and has a promenade that runs along it. We can find artists, acrobats and amateur actors along the promenade at the very edge of the beach doing performances to get a representative to notice them.

We will also see many people skating or cycling, so it is not difficult to guess that this beach is usually quite crowded. Of course, it depends on the date we go, and if it's in summer, the time we decide to visit Venice beach.
Traffic and parking get quite intense on the weekend, and several of the streets that go to different parts of the beach are closed, so it will finally be a good decision to walk with our towel and beach bag.
The walk that we will take will be really interesting and beautiful, seeing the unique and beautiful houses along the way. Like many beaches in the California area, you can expect a good mild and warm weather but without excessive heat.
However, we must be careful since we may think that we cannot get sunburned, but sand and water can act as reflectors and burn us if we have delicate skin.

Venice beach is declared as the capital of the world of skating (on rollers), which is one of the main activities, although of course you can ride a bike, surf, swim, go shopping, sailing and have lunch or dinner in the many shops in the area. If you go to Venice beach in December, there is a traditional parade of boats through the canals that is very entertaining and curious.
This beach is located just a quarter of an hour from the international airport and half an hour from the city of Los Angeles. It is a perfect beach if you are looking for a place close to the airport and where there are plenty of attractions and resources to have fun.
On Venice beach itself, there are about 7 hotels, although we can always choose one in the neighboring towns such as Marina del Rey or Santa Monica.
