In the mountains a little north of Locarno hides one of the most beautiful places in the sunny canton of Ticino - the valley of the river Verzasca. To get there, you do not need to buy a special tour or rent a car, you just need to take a regular bus from the train station Locarno in the direction of Sonogno.

I will talk about my trip to two interesting sites in the Verzasca Valley - this is the old village of Corippo and a picturesque place near the medieval bridge near the village of Lavertezzo.

My path began from Minusio, a suburb of Locarno, just on the road to the Verzasca valley. Getting up early, I caught the first bus to Sonogno, leaving Locarno at 7-20. Although there is a ticket machine at every stop that accepts both cash euros and Swiss francs, it can sometimes be difficult to get a ticket from it. But you should not worry about this - you can buy a ticket from the driver.

Having passed the town of Tenero, the bus begins to climb the serpentine uphill. When you get off at one of the nearest stops, "Diga Verzasca", you can see another place mentioned in the guidebooks for the canton of Ticino - the 220 meter dam, filmed in the movie "Golden Eye" about James Bond. They write that those who wish can, like Bond, jump down from the dam with a rubber cable.
I am not an extreme person, so at 7-54 I quietly and peacefully reached the stop "Corippo, Bivio" and followed the sign to Corippo. Having passed the bridge over the river, the tourist has to make a choice: to climb to the village along an overgrown path or along a serpentine of a beautiful asphalt road.
