Zuma Beach is a county beach located in Malibu, California. It is one of the longest and most popular beaches in Los Angeles, especially known for its long stretch of sand and for being an ideal place to surf. It consistently makes lists of the best beaches in Los Angeles for its excellent crystal clear waters. Zuma Beach is protected by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, with fourteen towers along the sands that extend along the coast, and offices located in the center of the beach.

Like all beaches that are good for surfing, there are many currents depending on where you go, so you have to be careful if you want to swim.
Visitors to Zuma Beach are advised not to surf or swim between towers eight and nine, an area especially prone to these currents. Despite these currents, Zuma Beach holds several events dedicated to surfing every year.

With optimal wind conditions and at sunset, Zuma beach attracts many fans of the water sport known as kitesurfing, where the ideal place is the northern part of the beach. There are very large spaces to park if we go by car, and most of these spaces are free.
Some of the services and activities that we can find on this beach are facilities for surfing, windsurfing and similar sports, as mentioned before, lifeguards (from the fire department) during daylight hours, fishing areas, diving areas, volleyball courts, toilets, external showers with cold water, parking, access routes for wheelchairs, and stalls to buy food and drinks, although they are open depending on the season.

As a curiosity, during emergency conditions, such as fires or earthquakes, Zuma Beach is a designated evacuation area to send people. With its very flat terrain, wide open car parks, many miles of sand, it serves as an ideal and safe place to stay until the danger passes.
Also due to its proximity to the film and television industry, Zuma Beach has been a popular location for filming. Some of the most famous series that have been filmed on Zuma beach are “ Baywatch ”, as well as other series, commercials, etc. In fact, the final scene in the movie " Planet of the Apes " was filmed very close to this beach.
