During our trip through Thailand we had the opportunity to see several impressive landscapes, including the Erawan Waterfall. This set of seven waterfalls is located in the Kanchanaburi region, west of Bangkok. The capital of the area, also called Kanchanaburi, receives many visits from travelers interested in seeing the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, but it is also a good base for excursions such as the Death Railway or the one we propose below.

Visit to the Erawan Waterfalls
The Erawan Falls are located in the Erawan National Park, about 75km from Kanchanaburi and 190km from Bangkok. This park covers an area of 550km² and has several points of interest -among them 4 caves-, but the jewel in the crown are the 7 waterfalls. At the end of the post we leave you the practical information on how to get there, prices, schedules and more.

Once you have accessed the enclosure, what you will have ahead of you is a walk of approximately 2 km in slight ascent, in which you go from 165m to 996m. The route reminded us a lot of the Ruta dels 7 Gorgs, which we already talked about here. Depending on your pace and the stops, it can take an hour and a half to reach the seventh waterfall, the one that gives the park its name due to its supposed resemblance to the three heads of the sacred elephant Erawan.
