Brighton, Michigan, is served by the retail lifestyle complex known as Green Oak Village Place, which is situated in Green Oak Township. The mall, which gradually opened between 2006 and 2008, has more than forty inline businesses in addition to six anchor stores, including Barnes & Noble, Dick's Sporting Goods, DSW Shoe Warehouse, HomeGoods, JCPenney, Pier 1 Imports, Five Below, and TJ Maxx. The sole mall in Brighton before Green Oak Village Place was built was Brighton Mall, a 20-store complex that was initially anchored by A&P and Grant City and was destroyed in 1996 to make way for big-box retailers like Marshalls and Best Buy.
