At the junction of Golf Road and Interstate 290 in the American city of Schaumburg, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, sits the retail center known as Woodfield Mall. The Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook, which is the second-largest mall in Illinois, is smaller than the mall. It is also among the biggest malls in the country for shopping.

Over 27 million people visit the mall each year, which is about 27 miles from the Chicago Loop. JCPenney, Macy's (previously Marshall Field's), and Nordstrom serve as the mall's main anchors and have a combined 234 shops. It also features 7 other eateries, including Texas de Brazil, Red Robin, Uncle Julio's, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Panda Express, The Cheesecake Factory, and Kinfolk BBQ.
Taubman Centers, which had initially created the mall, eventually sold it to CalPERS, Miller Capital Advisory, and GM Pension Trusts. Prior to GM Pension Trusts selling its ownership of the shopping center to Simon Property Group on December 31, 2012, Taubman managed the mall until January 1, 2013, when Simon Property Group took over administration.
