In the East County of San Diego's La Mesa, California, area, there is a retail center called Grossmont Center. Federal Realty Investment Trust is in charge of running the mall, which debuted in 1961. Del E. Webb Construction Company developed the mall in 1961 with Welton Becket and Associates serving as the architect. It took up 110 acres (45 hectares) of land and its construction cost more than $20 million. It was the biggest construction project in La Mesa's history at the time.
