In the American suburb of Lombard, which is part of Chicago, Illinois, Yorktown Center is a retail center. JCPenney, Marshalls, and Von Maur are the mall's anchor stores; the former Carson Pirie Scott anchor location is now vacant. The largest shop in the group, which opened in 2012 in Dunwoody, Georgia's Perimeter Mall, is bigger than the Von Maur location. On its two levels, the mall also has more than 100 other shops. A food court and The Shops on Butterfield, an outdoor shopping mall, provide additional features.

The 1,300,000-square-foot (120,000 m2) Yorktown Center was the biggest retail mall in the country when it was opened in 1968. The mall was originally a four-anchor indoor mall with wings for two-story JCPenney and Montgomery Ward anchor department stores that extended northward and southward, respectively, from the center courtyard. Three-story Carson Pirie Scott and Wieboldt's anchor department stores faced each other across the central courtyard. A strip mall known as the "Convenience Center" was built north of the mall itself. Originally, a Grand Union grocery served as its anchor. The Montgomery Ward and JCPenney anchor car stores, a General Cinema movie theater, and two restaurants were among the additional surrounding structures.
