Calanque d'En vau France - With its high cliffs and crystal clear water, the Calanque d'En vau is the most grandiose in the national park. At the bottom is a pebble beach.

It is reached by the departmental 559 which goes from Marseille to Cassis. Opposite the Carpiagne military camp, take the road that passes through the Gardiole forest and continue to the parking lot above. As the path descends, the hill remains at the same level which means you sink into a kind of defile that at the last bend opens out to the sea.

The reward is considerable. The views offered from the Belvédère d'En-vau (requires a detour) and the ridges on the Cassis side are simply splendid. Perfectly sheltered, Calanque d'En vau is a paradise for kayakers (kayak rental from Cassis) but also a few wild boars who sometimes swim among bathers and sunbathe on the beach (please do not feed them! They can become invasive, even borderline aggressive).
