Only two years after it first opened as Pompano Outlet Mall, the mall was placed into foreclosure. With the exception of a movie theater, the original outlet mall had completely closed by 1989. Shooster Properties bought it and reopened it as a flea market mall in 1991 following an unsuccessful effort to revive it in 1990 under the name Broward Crossing.
