James A. Grimmer created Quintard Mall, which debuted in August 1970. At the time, the mall included 32 inline businesses in addition to JCPenney and Britt's Department Store, which was a J.J. Newberry department store. Early in the 1980s, Sears took over the location that had been occupied by Britt's, and in 1997, Sears added to Britt's structure.
