In Burlington Township, New Jersey, the shopping center known as Burlington Center formerly stood there. The Rouse Company of Columbia, Maryland constructed it. Sears, JCPenney, and Macy's served as its pillars.

Only Sears remained operational after the mall's shutdown on January 8, 2018, and it did so until September 2, 2018. Early in 2021, the mall's demolition got underway.
