In the Town of Newburgh, New York, on NY 300, close to the intersection of Interstates 87 (the New York State Thruway) and 84, lies the regional retail area known as Newburgh Mall. King of Prussia Mall, a shopping center west of Philadelphia owned by Kravco Property Management (later Kravco Simon), was built in 1980.

Office Depot is the single anchor in the mall's 46 shops. The mall's former anchor, Bed Bath & Beyond, had experienced a sharp decrease in popularity in recent years. This resulted in the closing of several of their New York State stores, including the one at the Newburgh Mall, at the beginning of 2023. Sears and The Bon-Ton's two former anchor stores are now empty. The now-defunct chains Caldor and Howland's (later Steinbach, then Old Navy, now TRACK23) were among the first anchors.
