Situated 10 km from the town of Sarlat, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle overlooks the confluence of two rivers, the Dordogne and the Céou, in a wonderful location, opposite the beautiful villages of Beynac-et-Cazenac and La Roque-Gageac. The town is well known for its two castles - the medieval castle, beautifully restored, with a museum of medieval warfare, and the Milandes castle,  former property of Josephine Baker. The town itself is typical of the Perigord region and well worth a visit.
