Its translation is Eye of the Sea and is recognized as one of the five most beautiful lakes on the planet by some Wall Street Journal journalists.
The lake is located at an altitude of 1,393 meters and its meaning is said to be because it looks like a sea completely surrounded by mountains.
The legend about Morskie Oko is that the lake was connected to the Baltic Sea by an underground tunnel, but as I said before, these are legends.
Once at the top, we can see the lake with its crystal-clear waters and turquoise colors surrounded by mountains. Next to the lake we also find other hiking trails that take us to another higher lake called Czarny Staw. This in turn also connects to the climb to the highest peak in Poland, Rysy.
