The Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park is located in the heart of the Pyrenees. It was founded in 1918. It is one of the oldest nature reserves in Spain and is protected by UNESCO. 10,000 years ago, most of the park was buried under 500 meters of ice. The glacier formed two gorges and two valleys adjacent to Monte Perdido (altitude: 3,335 m).

It is better to start exploring the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park from the picturesque village of Torla with a well-developed tourist infrastructure and information center. Please note that during the high season (July-September) access to the Ordesa Valley is closed to private transport. You can get there by special buses that run all day between Torla and the valley. There is a large free parking lot next to the bus stop. So this village is a great option for accommodation for a few days.
