This beautiful canyon in Iceland with the difficult to pronounce name Fjaðrárgljufur is located in the southeast of the island, covered in lush vegetation and literally takes tourists on a fairytale journey.

Fjaðrárgljufur is up to 100 metres deep in some places and is about two kilometres long. A river called Fjaðrá flows through the canyon. The walls of the canyon are steep and the canyon itself is quite narrow and twists like a snake. The walking path along the edge of the canyon offers stunning views of the plains and glacial streams. It is a calm, quiet, clean and peaceful corner of nature.
