The village's main tourist attraction is the Château de Castelnaud , a 12th-century fortress strategically positioned on a rocky promontory 150 metres above the River Dordogne. Built to confront the nearby Château de Beynac , the castle played a significant role during the Hundred Years' War.

Today, it houses the Museum of Warfare in the Middle Ages , with a vast collection of weapons, armor and full-size replicas of siege engines.
